It’s the most wonderful time of the Disney Festival season, well… at least the Spring season! If you are like me, you love Disney and you love it, even more, when Disney Festival Season is upon us! This is the time of year when Disney decorates the park with the most color of displays making for beautiful photo oops. One of my favorite topiaries is of the “Three Caballero’s” since it’s so vibrant AND has Spaceship Earth in the background!! The topiaries are always so colorful and make perfect photo pops for the family.

I’ve been visiting the Flower and Garden Show for so many years and it never disappoints, well except for the Candied Strawberries that have been MIA from the Chinese Festival stand for the last 2 years, but, that is another post, lol!!!

I even remember when big names from HGTV and celebrity gardeners would come to Disney and give festival-goers an inside peek at how to get green-thumbs, too!

Fast forward to 2020 and the setup for the “27th International Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT” and you are in for a real treat this year!

Orange Bird” again joins this year’s International Flower & Garden Show mascot, “Spike the Bee“, as Pollination Explorers. Spike is featured in gardens throughout EPCOT as you search for him in the “Pollen-Nation Exploration scavenger hunt”, as well as, at the “Honey BEE-stro“, where you will find snack foods and drinks to featuring ….. honey! The “Honey Bee-stro” even features a Local Wildflower Honey-Marscapone cheesecake with Orange Blossom Honey Ice Cream and Fennel Pollen Merengues and Honey glitter!!! YUMMY YUMMY!

Did you know that “Spike the Bee” can trace the origin to Mickey Mouse cartoons dating back to the 1940’s. (Click here to learn more history of Spike the Bee and Mickey).

The food at the festival is always a fantastic treat that offers a unique insight into the tasty delights of the featured countries and regions of the world. Fun fact: If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, the festival food carts count as SNACKS! Gone are the days of loading up on junk candy to use up all your credits. Instead, plan a trip around a festival (Arts, Food and Wine, Holiday or Flower and Garden Show) and use those snack credits to your advantage.

The topiaries at EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival 2020 are always a delight for everyone. Featured here are a few of my favorites!

Unfortunately, COVID-19 halted the beautiful displays and delicious food at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. The festival debuted on March 4, 2020, and closed March 15, 2020. That’s only 11 days after all the hard work the cast members and behind the scenes, crews put into the festival. As a Passholder, we also lost our chance to gain access to our ‘perks’ of these super cute magnets. We are hopeful that the festival will resume once the park reopens in July, but, no cast member has been able to answer whether the park will still be decorated for the Flower and Garden Festival or not…. So, until we find out more, stay tuned, stay healthy and safe, and live in the memories of the 11 days the festival was open!
